I am a high school player currently playing number 3 for a state championship level team, and I'm very impressed with this string in every aspect. This string was way better than the 4 other synthetic gut strings I've tried, since this string pocketed way better even with such a tight poly, as the other strings felt like planks with the hybrid. Now that I can string every week for $4, I never have to adjust my game to the strings, and everything always feels predictable. I used to use ALU Power, but it was too expensive to string very often, so I was playing with dead strings a lot. The only complaint I have with this setup is the amount of spin I get, but it's enough that it's worth it. With this combo it is the exact same feel and control of a poly, but with more power. I hybrid it with a cheap poly (Gamma Poly Z 17) with this in the mains, and the poly in the crosses at 45/55. From: Kevin, 8/26/20Ĭomments: Best string to hybrid for sure. Give this an unbiased try and you might be surprised at how well it plays and feels. The only setup I like as much or more than Gosen OG is Volkl V-Fuse, six times as expensive. More control than multifilaments, and not as mushy feeling more power, better feel, and more arm-friendly than polyesters.

After playing with multiple polyesters and multifilaments in both full bed and hybrid setups, this, to me, just outperforms them. I see so many 3.5 and 4.0 players hitting full beds of polyester with strokes that aren't fast enough to really capitalize on the benefit of a polyester.
